Sales Points in Lifestyle Communities
We are often asked, "What's selling?" We have compiled the chart below to answer just that. In an attempt to see where the market movers are we set out to choose like communities similar to those we specialize in and determine just what price points are selling. We made a subjective choice that includes communities such as Fripp Is., Harbor Is., Dataw Is., Distant Is., Coosaw Point, Cat Island, Habersham and others. The data indicates that the majority of the properties selling are in the $200,000 to $450,000 range. For those of us following the market this is no big surprise.

November home sales showed
a 7.4% increase and gave further support that the economy maybe turning the
corner. The last few economic releases have all shown that the employment
and housing picture is indeed getting better, although not as strong as some
would like. This is testimony to the huge government spending bill that is
finally showing some results. However the recovery is expected to be slow
with a few bumps on the way.
As a
result of the stronger economic numbers mortgage rates have moved to their
highest level since August. The 10 year yield hit 3.75% this week and
mortgage rates have moved to just below 5.00%.
